Yes -- you can use an external task to trigger a deployment. Check out the solutions workflow author_submit_with_deploy.wft for an example.

You can call deployment by calling an external task script. The deployment can be called using iwodstart CLT .

e.g iwodstart Deploymentname

Hi,

One last thing, to make it bulletproof i would use the /iw-home/OpenDeployNG/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl Deployment name . This a better solution, and some time you have problems if you just call iwodstart directly.

If you're using OD 5.6 - you should be able to use:
IWODHOME/bin/iwodcmd start configname
instead of:
IWODHOME/bin/iwodstart configname
or:
IWODHOME/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl configname
