I am just curious about the TeamSite and Solaris x86.
Will it even work?
Anybody tried that?
thanks.

not supported. different chicp architecture & since TS is written with a file system component, it is not nearly as easy as just recompiling.
BTW, don't count on it, there is some (limited) momentum behind Linux, you may have better luck there if that is an option.
I am certain Lissa will chime in as well.

Is Solaris x86 still unsupported? Thanks.

Solaris X86 will likely never be supported for TeamSite.
Linux is available.

Thanks ... it's my understanding that it won't be generally available until 6.7. It's only been released to a few clients.

WHat won't be available ? Linux ? IIRC, that is still at 6.1 rev.

Really? It was released to few clients? We are eagerly waiting for the Linux version. Currently on Solaris 8 with 5.5.2. Is the Linux version a BETA? how can we get that version.
Thanks

The TeamSite 6.1 for Linux version is not a Beta. It is an officially supported release - albeit with a few cross product limitations. We just went through a round of certifications for it and added support for dual CPU, Visual Format, Windows XP SP2 clients and MT cross product compatibility. Please talk to your sales rep if you have a need for the TS version on Linux

I think my company would like Solaris x86 support for TeamSite and OpenDeploy

Redhat is not the only Linux distribution out there.
heh. Your company should be pushing Solaris on sparc

Redhat is not the only linux version, but last I checked, it is the only "supported" version of TeamSite on Linux. (Yes, you could always run a RH clone such as CentOS, but how many people run an unspoorted community packaged OS in a production environment??)
Personally, I use suse since they still let you download for free. Although, I wish they would default to gnome instead of KDE.
