Javascript problem after Microsoft Patch

Hi,
I've got problems with a javascript function after a Microsoft Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (824145) was distributed in my company. We've got IE 5.5.

The function I'm using is to minimize the left navigation in the templating form, as described in this thread:

The script was working fine before the update. The security patch is described in this Microsoft article: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-048.asp, but I couldn't figure out how to get my script working again.

Has anyone had this problem or know what to do? I suppose the same problem would occur for other javascript callouts as well, and I know many of you guys out there are using them. I would appreciate very much to hear from you!

Hi,

We also have a problem with all of the IE 5.5 browsers after a security patch- any DCT with Form API throws javascript errors. We are on TeamSite 5.52. All it takes is the insertion of <script> tags and we see the problem- looks like the error is a function that the templating engine uses. The templates do work fine with IE 6.0, but that is not the enterprise standard yet.

Would love to hear if there is some kind of workaround as we cannot roll back such security patches.

I'm sorry that you've got the same problem, but still happy that I'm not alone!;-)

I contacted Interwoven Support, and got a suggestion and a patch back. It replaces the two files:
iw-home\httpd\webapps\webdesk\templating\userscript.jsp
iw-home\httpd\webapps\webdesk\WEB-INF\web_no_jsp.xml as web.xml

Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem, but perhaps it will work for you? The contact person I had was Yolanda Núñez (ynunez@interwoven.com, support Europe). The bug ID is 50023, and was reported by another customer.

I'm interrested to hear if it solves your problem!

Hi Eldbjoerg,

Thanks a lot for the info- I may follow up on that. In the meantime we are lucky that most of our users are on IE 6.0 clients so they don't see the problem.

Also, you may want to know that in testing out TS 6.0 on our sandbox, this issue with IE 5.5 does not seem to appear.

Ready for TeamSite 6.0 yet??? Smiley Wink
