CSSDK 1.1 compatibility query

Hi,
If anyone can just clarify...

1) Only CS SDK 1.1 is compatible with TS 5.5.2 right not SDK2.0?
2) Can any external application make use of SDK1.1 bcoz it specifically only mentions portals and portlets?

CS 2.0 was introduced in TeamSite 6.0. I does not work with TS 5.5.2.

CS is intended to be a public API into the TeamSite server. Its use is not restricted to portals or other UI code.

To add to Brinko's response:
CSSDK1.1 was designed for portals but can be used by any application. However, it's not full-featured and is not a complete TeamSite API. CSSDK 2.0 is a complete, full-featured API to TeamSite.
