workflow submit files

work4u

I have a workflow that gets instantiated using the submit button. The first task of the workflow is a cgi task to add multiple files from different directories. I would like to present this task if the author at the time of the instantiation did not check a file. The problem I am encountering is in the wft file there is no way to find out if the author checked a specific file or not, because the workflow automatically attached all the modified files if no files were selected.

Is there's way to find out if the author specifically checked a file.

Appreciate the replies.
Thanks

You can try to use some ad-hoc logic within your WFT and test the number of elements in iw_file with the __ELEM__('iw_file'); directive, but it's subject to false-positives / false-negatives. I.e. something like:

    if (__ELEM__('iw_file') > 10){
        # Assume nothing was pre-selected
    }
    elsif (__ELEM__('iw_file') == 0){
        # Nothing was pre-selected and no modified files were found
    }
    else {
        # Assume pre-selected files
    }

Then use that to determine whether or not your start task is the cgitask that prompts, or the task after that.

If the cgitask script prompts and does additional work after the files are selected, you could use similar logic (though not with __ELEM__) within the cgitask script to determine what part of the script should be run first.
