Customizing CC GUI

Is there a way to create your own Interface that has a mixture of the functionality provided in the CC Standard and CC Professional Interfaces?
For example, I have a scenario where the end users prefer to have the CC Standard Interface but the IW exposed functionality doesn't permit users logged into ccstd to browse the staging areas.
What I would like is to have 2 Portlets with Content specific information, One for browsing the workareas (this is default) and another browsing the Staging areas(not sure if this can be done)

the short answer was -no, such a mixture is not possible at the moment
