Initiating workflow from external task
pedamale
Hi,
I have been trying to instantiate a workflow using iwjobc from within a perlscript. The workflow works fine with the user tasks added to it, but hangs itself when an external task is added. The perl code is a part of external task in another workflow, so the job id and other variables are available to the perl code.
Please help,
Pedamale

So this is an externaltask within a workflow that creates and invokes another workflow? I'm not entirely sure why you're doing it this way (as opposed to using a nested workflow) - but that's probably besides the point.
Would it be possible for you to capture and post (as an attachment) the job description file that this script generates? It might be easier to figure out what's going wrong. Also - if you do that, you can run iwjobc on it from the command line, and you might get some error messages to help you debug it yourself.

It looks like your external program includes logging. Is the program being run? Is the callback being called, or does the program error out? Can you run your program from the command line (providing the appropriate arguments)?
Note: The #! line should be the very first line in your file, although this is probably not the source of your problem.
