Carriage returns in saved DCRs?

For some reason we are now seeing carriage returns in our DCR xml after we resave them in teamsite 5.5.2 sp2b. This is causing problems in our JSP pages rendering them, thus we do not want the carriage returns in the .xml. how do we disable this? any help would be appreciated

Eric,

Out of curiosity, why does the JSP even care about whitespace in XML?

I'm not saying that the format change of the DCRs should not be questioned, but I've never heard of anyone caring much about this aspect of the XML.
Unless you are using regex patterns to parse the XML rather than a more robust parsing method....?

There is a setting in iw.cfg called pretty_print_dcrs (or something along those lines). Setting this to false or off should get you back to the single line DCRs.

excellent feedback guys, thanks! we currently have

pretty_print_dcrs=true

so im gonna switch that around and hope it fixes it...wierd thing i just noticed is this only happened after i enabled the event server via the DD gui.

the carriage returns were causing our XSLT to parse the dcr xml incorrectly (not sure why) so we were getting duplicate links on our .jsps. when i manually opened the DCR in notepad and removed the carriage returns the xslt converted fine then.
