Using <allowed> tags with Select box that has inli

Hi,
I have a situation where I am populating drop down through inline script. And I want only the role=Master to select from this drop down. I looked into <instance> , <allowed>, <cred> tags. But the examples and everything in documentation only demonstrates these tags with text boxes or text areas.
Had anyone done this before. Well one more thing. This is a Data-deploy field as well with data type "Number"
My environment is Solaris, TS 5.5.2 and DB Oracle 8.1.7
