Setting variables in presentation templates

dlukezic

Does anyone know how I can set a variable within a presentation template? What I am trying to do is that I have to check to see if a value exists on the DCR. If it does, I want to set a variable that contains that value, and if it doesn't, I want to set that same variable to a default value.

Thanks in advance!

Just use an iwperl section:

<iwperl>
my $val = iwpt_dcr_value('field.to.check');
if (!$val)
{
    $val = "default value";
}
</iwperl>

Then, wherever you want to output this variable:
<iw_value name="val"/>
