why CLT can not be executed by TS

My externaltask can not be executed. when run to this task, it always active, then the job can not be ended. Why???

My externaltask is below:

The reason why your job is not getting "ended" is because the script/process you are trying to run ("d:/iw-home/bin/iwversion") does not do a *callback* to the workflow. I assume that iwversion is the CLT shipped by Interwoven, and not some custom script. In order to run a script/executable as externaltask, it has to meet some requirements. You cannot run iwversion directly. If you need to run a CLT you will have to wrap it with a script that does a callback.

It appears to me that you are just trying to run some command probably to test or part of some learning excercise. I would recommend using the example shipped with TeamSite versions 5.5.x or later. There is a sample externaltask, cgitask, etc.

What version of TS are you using ?

Please read the documentation on worklfows which, contratry to the popular belief is fairly decent. There is a workflow developers guide on the support site. There is a wonderful tutorial written by the famous fish
