Symlinked DCT

I'm symlinked to a DCT that exists in a separate branch. On attempting to create a new record I'm getting the error:

"The system cannot locate the object specified. Error processing resource 'http://stockton01.state.nj.us/iw-mount/default/main/www.nj.gov/testdept/WORKAREA/workarea/templatedata/common/nav/datacapture5.0.dtd'."

Servletd log throws back a sciface file not found error. So I've tried the following:
1. Copy datacapture5.0.dtd into the same directory as the symlink. This doesn't work.
2. Copy datacapture5.0.dtd into the directory where the datacapture.cfg exists. No dice.
3. Create a preconnect remap to datacapture5.0.dtd where I copied it into the directory above. No luck here.

The DCT is in standard interwoven format. Nothing custom, nothing out of the ordinary and datacapture5.0.dtd is specified up top as normal.

I saw a previous post saying it wasn't easily possible. Anyone have experience with this?

Is your TeamSite on Windows or Solaris ?

symlinks are problematic - and you should try to avoid using them as much as possible. Besides not being portable, the method in which they are created and/or interpreted can vary widely.
If you want to share a portion of a generic DCT across branches - try doing it with inline's

Have you tried both 'hard links' and 'soft links'

As fish says - you better DON'T use symlinks for that purpose, or any links
