iwgen error

I keep getting the ¡§does not have a configured filename extension¡¨ error, but I don¡¦t what I did wrong.

iwgen -t Y:\main\CNF\Intranet\WORKAREA\ITWeb\templatedata\ITW
EB\General\presentation\General.tpl -r Y:\default\main\CNF\Intranet\WORKAREA\ITWeb\templatedata\ITWEB\Gen

Error:

iwgen uses vPath not filePath

IE

you should be passing in

/default/main/branch

instead of

Y:\default\main\branch

I also noticed your path starts with

Y:\main ...

Is this correct

well, good point, but I have tired all kind of combinations, but still get the same error.

Here is the command that used without the Y:/ and starts with the default branches.

Y:\default\main\CNF\Intranet\WORKAREA\ITWeb>iwgen -t default/main/CNF/Intranet/WORKAREA/ITWeb/templatedat

Are you sure that the .tpl file has an entry in templating.cfg? please attach your templating.cfg file. That might help us in diagnosing the error.

I think so, because the generate works in the workflow. HEre is the section in the templating.cfg for the General.tpl.

a vPath is absolute.... it needs to start with slash (/)

instead of
default/main/CNF/Intranet/WORKAREA/ITWeb/templatedat
a/ITWEB/General/presentation/General.tpl

try

/default/main/CNF/Intranet/WORKAREA/ITWeb/templatedat
a/ITWEB/General/presentation/General.tpl

note the leading forward slash

1 - the path should be '/data/' not '/Data/'
2 - iwgen references information within the templating.cfg file - and according to the error message, you have not configured a filename extension for the PT you are attmempting to use.

Fix those two things and you should get further.

well, I just tried the lowercase "data", but still got the same error. The "generate" works in templating. The tpl is configured in the templating.cfg and I did assign a default extension. Is there anything else that I need to do?

Here is the section in tempelating.cfg. Am I doing anything wrong?

The support site has a Knowledge Base Article: 49754 that discusses your problem.

We ran into a similar error for one particular user while running iwregen. If the KB article does not help, you may want to verify permissions, use a different workarea or see if the launchpad settings is defined for .tpl.
