Teamsite on Solaris - Storage Specifics?

Hi, we're going to be installing Teamsite/OpenDeploy/DataDeploy on a Solaris system. My tech staff wants to know if we can use Net App Filer for the disk storage, i.e., can it just be a Unix-based NTS-mount file system? Sorry if I got any of the acronyms wrong...

Also, does DataDeploy come with all the needed hooks/drivers for tapping into SQLServer, UDB, DB2?

Any help or comments would be appreciated!

We use a NetApp filer for our TS backing store using NFS. Works fine last a long time. Some huge advantages fo rdoing backups: freeze the TS server and have the NetApp filer snapshot the volume; thaw the TS server; backup the snapshot. Although the backup can take a long time the snapshot is seconds. So users are not incomoded by the TS server being frozen for long to do a backup.

We also have our backing stores on a Net App Filer. For added performance, we have added an additional NIC card to our TS server and have segmented all Filer bound traffic through the additional card to improve response times.

Interwoven has published a whitepaper on using Net App Filers with TeamSite, including some performance benchmarks. I am not sure whether it is here in devnet or on the support site. From what I am told, Interwoven uses a Net App box in house as well.

NFS will be slower than a raw or fiber channel device, but it should work fine.
