mediabin call from IT and OT
bebzif
dears,
is there any example somewhere to do the following :
- call mediabin from an input template to populate a field (like the standard browse button, but to MB and not to the TS repository)
- call mediabin with the iwov_mbasset tag in output templates to retrieve a mediabin asset applyign a transformation.
it would be very helpful juste to have some tracks ... i did not found any documentation about this anywhere.
thx a lot in advance for your help !
best regards,
bertrand

Here is something that will probably work for the callout and a description of the custom tag.
Callout to MediaBin:
<cgi-callout url="/iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/ts_mb.ipl/BROWSE" label="MediaBin Attachment"
window-features="width=750,height=550,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=yes" />
The callout will just allow browsing into MediaBin and return the path to the asset in the field provided. It doesn't do any processing of the asset. That is all handled by the custom tag when the file is generated (or previewed).
The <iwov_mbasset> tag has two basic formats:
<iwov_mbasset name="..." task="..."/>
which will run the specified task (by name) on the specified asset. If not task name is specified, the "(Get Original)" task is used.
and:
<iwov_mbasset name="..." format="gif|jpg" width="#" height="#"/>
which will run a special task on the asset to generate a GIF or JPG file which will fit within the specified width and height.
A perl script (IWOV_MBASSET.PM) handles the custom tag in the template file. It is pretty simple, feeding the parameters to the tsmbcGenerate servlet, which in turn does all the work.

Do a search in iw-perl folder.
If you have not installed the connector it won't be there for sure.
