Open Deploy not working.Got Exception: null

Hi All,
We have the Content Management System and it’s details as follows:
TeamSite 5.5.1 with SP1
Open Deploy 5.5.1 with SP1
OS Solaris
1. Recently we have installed a patch on Solaris and it’s a recommended cluster patch with kernel revision 108528-27
After installation of above patch, the TeamSite is working fine but Open Deploy is not working. Our Content Management System details as follows:
2. Initially (After patch installation on Solaris) as soon as we login to Open Deploy we get the error "The selected host cannot be contacted at this time"
3. Then we have filed the case with Interwoven and we been suggested to rename the Schedb.Scripts files as the file size has grown indefinitely and causing the problem.
4. We renamed the above file (to Schedb.Scripts .old) and restarted the Open Deploy server and a new Schedb.Scripts file automatically created on the server.
5. Now the Open Deploy server is UP. When we check the status of the Open Deploy server by issuing ./iwodserverstatus command we get the following output:
$ ./iwodserverstatus
OpenDeploy server host: localhost, RMI registry port: 9173
OpenDeploy server is alive.
0 deployments are currently active.
6. Now the new has been created, When we click on the “Start Deployment” button and try to run “Test” deployment it displays the following message:
Start Deployment Failed
Test
Got Exception: null
7. Then, Interwoven support suggested us to install SP2 and Patch (ID: 1370) for Open Deploy
5.5.1.
8. Even after installation of SP2 and the Patch (ID: 1370). The problem remains the same. When we try to run any Deployment it shows:
Start Deployment Failed
Test
Got Exception: null
9. Another problem is when we try to add the new scheduler (For Test) it shows the following message:
For deployment: Test
Server encountered an error while adding/updating schedule for deployment Test null
10. When we try to run the Deployment from command prompt it shows the following message:
Locating OpenDeploy service.
OpenDeploy server host: localhost, RMI registry port: 9173
Got OpenDeploy service.
>>>>>-- Start deployment test.
iwodstart running in default synchronous mode.
Need to wait for deployment to complete.
***ERROR - Starting deployment.
Reason from server: DEPLOY_CONFIG_FILE
Details : Got Exception: null
I am here with attaching XXXXX_odbase.log and od.log for your references on this issue.
Many thanks in advance
Kind Regards,
Jitendra

Did you [accidently?] remove the test.xml file in IWODHOME/conf/ ?
Is test.xml there and protected such that it cannot be read ?
Is test.xml there but corrupted? (perhaps it was edited on a Windows machine and has ^M's in it?)
The error message you mention at the end would seem to indicate that OD was unable to find or read the test.xml file.

Dear Fish,
1.We have not removed the test.xml accidently.
2.it is not protected...can edit the file.
3.test.xml doesn't contain any ^M's in it.
the above problem is coming for all the deployment files.

Well, pending any other responses - the only thing I can suggest is for you to contact Support. Please do post if/when you find a resolution (and what it was).

Hi,
Finally we got our OpenDeploy Server running.
We followed the below steps to make it running:
1) Stop the Open Deploy Server
2) Rename schedDB.data to schedDB_XXXXX.data
3) Rename schedDB.properties to schedDB_XXXXX.properties
4) Rename schedDB.script to schedDB_XXXXX.script
5) Start the Open Deploy Server
Thanks for everyone who had viewed our post and given a thought.
Regards
Jeetu
