Generating Two Files in Workflow
jajtiii
Greetings,
First off, I am extremely new to TeamSite, so I apologize up front for any blunders!
My foremost quandary, at the moment, is generating a Workflow that will generate two documents from one DCR.
I have searched these forrums and found some good references to iw_ostream, but I would instead like to have the end user go directly to the DCR, edit it and on a save/generate, initiate some kind of workflow that would generate the two files (basically, the data being put into the DCT needs to be pushed to two different web pages).
Thanks in advance for any assistance,
Jones

First - you should read the TeamSite Templating Developer's Guide, and going through some training (either web-based or in-class) would probably be useful too.
Second - the workflow would simply provide the interface (externaltask script or cgitask script) to run the templating command (iwgen or iwpt_compile.ipl) to generate the pages from the DCR. Whether you do this by running two distinct PT's on the DCR, or whether you code the PT to generate two files directly whenever it processes a DCR are the big options which you need to determine how you want to address. There's no "one right way" to do this - it's a question of how things fit within your environment and business processes - and your ability to code it comfortably.
