Hi All,

I had a situation where on the receiver side i had some pdf(about 5 file) file's which are not their on base side. These pdf are comming from different server by ftp bases to the receiver side. we need dodelete option between base and receiver to sysn the files on both side,but i had a problem of those pdf which should not be removed. How can we overcome this.

Thank you,
Lokesh.

Then you probably aren't specifying the filters correctly.
Filtes can be specified in several different locations within the configuration file - some locations refer to *source*-side filters and some refer to *target*-side filters.

If you have files that exist on the target side, but which you don't want ever to be deployed or deleted - you 'll probably want them to be filtered out on both sides of the deployment so you'll need to specify the filters twice.

Also - just to make sure - what version of OpenDeploy are you using - 5.0.1 had a number of problems with respect to the DTD that affected filtering - these were fixed in 5.5.1 and it all should work in 5.6.

Please spend some time looking at it yourself to see if you can figure it out. If you can't figure it out, then post (as an attachment) your deployment configuration file

Hi,

I am using OD 5.6 on solaris 8.0(base server) to windows2k (receiver server).

I am trying to filter abc.pdf and abc.asp for testing...

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<deploymentConfiguration nodeSetFile="/usr/local/OpenDeployNG/etc/odnodes.xml" >

<localNode host="165.189.80.150"

</targetFilesystem>
</target>

</definition>

Okay - you've got filters in both places (source and target side) - but I think you might need to change:

<excludePath subPath="abc.pdf" />
<excludePath subPath="asx\abc.asp" />

<excludePattern regex="[\\/]abc\.pdf" />
<excludePattern regex="asx[\\/]abc\.asp" />

try it and let us know if that works any better (I'm doing all of this off the top of my head, without any attempt to try it out because I don't have time to do so (sorry).
