Creating a Job from a web page
Hazzie
I have been asked if its possible to kick off a workflow job using (ideally) a ASP page based on a IIS web server.
The idea being, we have a staff suggestion scheme. We would like the member of staff to fill in the details of the suggestion via a form on our intranet. The process of submiting the suggestion would then start a Teamsite Job that would either capture the information or get it form some other place.
Just looking for suggestions on how the kicking off bit might work.
Has anyone done anything like this and could suggest anything.
Cheers.

Hi,
One idea might be to have the created XML of a WFT file with dummy parameters for Workflow Variables or something like that. The CGI would then parse the XML for these dummy parameters and put in the newly captured data (from the form you mentioned). The CGI would then invoke the job using iwjobc.
Not sure if this is the cleanest method and I am sure there would be problems with where the commad is running and who it is running as...but maybe it will give you some ideas?
Hope it helps.
