Casual Contributor - a new TeamSite Session

In our TeamSite Templating 5.5.2 implementation, Casual Contributors are editing Intranet
pages using a URL link to Smart Context Editor e.g.

http://teamsiteserver/iw/webdesk/sce?vpath=/default/main/intranet/mypage.html

This works fine for casual editing through the Smart Context Editor.
I was wondering if it is possible to enhance this functionality to allow for
a single URL that would bring the user into WebDesk/WebDeskPro, open a session in the correct
workarea and opens the DCR for editing?

I have tried the 'edit' variable but this just open the associated DCR. e.g.

http://teamsiteserver/iw/webdesk/edit?vpath=/default/main/intranet/mypage.html

This does not bring the user into WebDesk/WebDeskPro directly and so if a user wishes to edit
associated files for this content, they will have to navigate through TeamSite separately.
