workflow creation

Hi!
I want to create a new workflow. To do this, wat r all variable/parameter i need to change. And which .cfg,.tpl files i have to change. Do i need to have knowledge on perl to do that?
I appreciate quick response.

The quick response is: RTFM and Take training.
The slightly slower response is that you need to figure out what you want the workflow to do; whether there is any OOTB workflow that does what you want already and if not, whether there is one that comes close to what you want that you can then copy and modify to meet your requirements.
Do you need to know Perl - possibly - it certainly won't hurt.
For a more detailed answer, you need to post a more detailed query.

Adam, actually, I'd suggest that we ask lissa to create an FAQ for that sorts of basic questions. I mean - why should you keep anwering such things over and over again?

An easier response than Fish's is to hire a consultant to create the workflow for you. Especially if you don't think it's a skill that you're going to need in house.

That would mean that the outsource company someone in the US hired to save a couple bucks has to outsource to someone else. When does the madness stop?!?! You get what you pay for...

Hey they can probably hire the guy they laid off when they outsourced his job.

Assuming they can drag that guy away from his new job at Wal Mart.

Dear Gentlemen!
Please don't assume things like that. Sorry for late reply as i am out of station these days. I am a person to learn things very fastly. That's y i asked you somewhat silly question. Actually, i am working on another platfrom, and i took a look at interwoven in my leisure time.
I am younger enough to IT. That's y please encourage us even if we do mistakes unknowly with your experience.
Thanks & Regds

I'd encourage you to look at my initial response: RTFM and/or Training (web-based and/or class-room). That's probably the best way for you to learn how to implement custom workflows in TeamSite (the "customizable" workflows that ship with TeamSite are fine if you understand them enough to make whatever changes you want - but there again, RTFM + Training provides the base understanding).
Learning how to truly design and develop a workflow process is skill (either innate or learned) which is difficult to impart through a forum and also something which (IMO) you don't get for "free"... thus it becomes: RTFM + Training + Experience

I do enjoy Adam's posts so much more now that he's not working directly for Interwoven.
Oh and he speaks the truth - if you think you'll be able to learn how to create useful workflows in TeamSIte without cracking the manual or getting some training, I think we'll be seeing similar posts from you a couple years from now.
