MT Capture in 6.0L
Ottawa_IWOV
Hi All,
Quick question. Anyone had problems tagging content in 6.0L. We are able to tag files with .gif extensions, but not HTML or HTM.
Anyone encountered this problem before.
Thanks in advance

Is MetaTagger installed or not?

Most likely you have (or had) MetaTagger installed somewhere. Check if there's a metatagger entry in iw.cfg. The Tagger GUI caches metatagger.cfg, so if it had access to an MT server at one point, it will ignore GIFs but try to get suggested metadata for HTML files by default. You might try iwreset-ui to restart servletd and flush the cache.
Also, check servletd.log (solaris) or servled_out.log (windows) for errors. Maybe that can give you some clues.
I hope this helps.

It REALLY bothers me when people from Interwoven ask if MetaTagger (or any other product for that matter)is installed or not when debugging a problem.
It completely insults my intelligence. I have been working with Interwoven products for three years. I am pretty sure that when I am trying to debug a problem with Interwoven it is not due to the fact that the software is not installed. Give me a freakin' break!!
Interwoven thinks that it's engineers are the only ones that know the product.
Wake up!!

Considering how many people fail to provide sufficient information when reporting a problem in the forums - I don't think you should read anything personal about such suggestions.

Just to echo what ghoti said. You can do Metadata capture without Metatagger being installed, but the code path is different. That's why people need to know all the software that is configured. No one meant to imply that you hadn't installed everthing you needed, they only want to know the software configuration you have.
