Alt text not appearing in VFE

What changes I need to do inorder to appear alt txt in VFE. I am getting every thing what I want except alt text. Can any help in this.

Hi,
We have this problem as well.

If Visual Format is set up in datacapture.cfg as external-editor-inline="f" (so a callout button appears rather than the visual format box being inline to the form) then editing an image through Visual Format will result in the alt tag text not showing up in the image editing dialog box, and further, the alt attribute value being blanked upon close of the visual format box.

This makes the "callout" feature of Visual Format/Teamsite Templating useless and, in fact, dangerous, as it is destructive.

Of course the alternative is to have the Visual Format boxes inline to the form, but as anyone who has used Visual Format knows, any more than a few of these and the form becomes unusable.

It seems the official line is to have no more than 5 VF boxes in a form. As we have upwards of 14 in the form in question, that isn't a solution either.

Does anyone have any experience with this bug?

We are using TS 6.1 on solaris. Perhaps I am misunderstanding but in our case with external-editor-inline="f" the alt tag field & text are indeed showing up. The alt text value is not being lost on closing the VF window.

Ergo, for once, no aberrant VF behavior. Could this mean that some other param is causing the houdini alt text, I don't know.

We have our own issues with VF occasionally adding carriage return entitites (  ) to alt text - like 12,000 - 15,000 of them in a single VF box, distributed more or less evenly between the different alt texts. Do a search and replace to get rid of them and they come back. Luckily this hasn't happened often. The only clue is that it seems to happen when there are lots of images with javascript (onmouseover, onmouseout, onfocus, onblur).

Has anyone else experienced this, or similar? Please let us know how you dealt with it.
