Image on VisualFormat field

The visual format field on datacapture.cfg refers to a visualformat.xml that refers to a custom css. This css tries to aplly custom bullets.
Now, the drop down shows up along with the selections for custom bullets. However, when style is applied to text, it only shows spacing changes (i.e. the custom bullet gif) doesnt show up).
Do you know what I should look at in order to have this bullet gif shown properly on the visual format field?
