iwpt_compile question
Kallattil
When I use
iwpt_compile.ipl
to compile TPLs, it shows some warning messages like
Use of uninitialized value at (eval 81) line 2269.
My TPL has only much fewer lines than 2269. I wonder what does this tell me ? Does anyone know the theory behind this?
Thanks,
Vijayan

The line number that is referenced refers to the intermediate output code that is generated as a result of your iwpt_compile command. What you need to do for testing is to append the option -ocode to your compile command like so:
iwpt_compile.ipl -pt ptname -ofile output.htm -iw_pt-dcr dcrsource
-ocode test.ipl
This will generate the result to a temp file which you then run directly with the perl command:
iwperl test.ipl
When you run this, the line numbers for the uninitialized variables will be accurate if you open the temp file: test.ipl. This will help you track down the variable that is not being initiatized.

I feel that this is because Jon ****'s code is not 'kosher' as it does not 'use strict' - so even a correct PT might have these messages. Just ignore them
