Interwoven and VMware

Hi all,
I'm curious to find out who else is using VMware in conjunction with Interwoven products. We're using it to support a development environment for research, development, and demonstration purposes. Currently this includes TeamSite 6.0 and OpenDeploy 5.6 SP1 running on Windows 2000 Server SP3, all inside of VMware Workstation 4.5.

Interwoven does NOT currently certify (and thus doesn't support) use of their products in this environment, but my company is part of a feature request to have it supported in the future.

Our implementations have been generally successful, apart from one recurring problem with OpenDeploy. The symptom is that every once in a while, the deployments and the admin UI will stop working. I have to stop and restart the OpenDeploy service to bring them back again. This happens with both base and receiver. We haven't yet determined conclusively whether this has anything to do with running under VMware.

Anyway, I'm interested to hear from anybody else who is using VMware, whether you've seen the same kind of issues or not. Mainly just want to know who else is out there who I can trade ideas with.

we are about to use VMware server for OpenDeploy 6.1.0 and w2k3 sp2 and i know it is supported by IWOV accoding to Knowledge Base Article: 55074 but i would like to check with the community here if there are any known issue when using vmware?

We have and continue to use it successfully with TeamSite, OpenDeploy, MediaBin, LiveSite, MetaTagger and WorkSite. This includes Linux and Windows environments (where supported).

The only thing you can't run in VMware is Solaris, until Interwoven ports the code over to run on Solaris x86.

We use both the workstation and server products from VMware, and this is only in development and test instances, not production.

Consider virtualization is more and more popular and my client is thinking in this direction, I'd like to know if anyone has used it with TeamSite on Windows 2003 platform in production. Thanks in advance.

My dev server is on VMware, no production, since we already have the hardware. There is no reason that this will not work, it is a very solid implementation.
