TeamSite pricing..
AKB
The latest pricing information from Interwoven says
TeamSite Workgroup Edition includes 1 CPU, 5 branches, 1 store, EasyDeploy and 1 copy Macromedia Dreamweaver
TeamSite Corporate Edition includes 2CPus, 10 branches, 1 store, EastDeploy, 3 copies Macromedia Dreamweaver.
As far as I know (I might be wrong also) earlier there was no restrictions on the number of branches ? When the pricing information says 10 branches does it really mean TeamSite branches ?
If yes then 10 branches include sub-branches also ? If not then any company can have one branch under main and then create as many sub branches as possible...
anyways the idea of linking number of branches with pricing ...difficult for me to understand...

that truly is ridiculous - can you imagine Oracle licensing on a per-table basis, or microsoft charging you for using applications you develop yourself. Where did you get this pricing info?

IW has flirted with this off & on for the last couple years. In trying to drive down the cost of
TS, IW has limited some functionality. The idea is that if a company is using 20 branches they
can pay for more functionality.
It likely DOES include sub-branches, since I could make a main branch BLAH and everything
sub.
(not saying I agree with it)

If it doesn't include subbranches then everyone has only one branch - main - right?

may be under main one branch and then all the branches if it does not include sub branches...by this IF IT IS POSSIBLE THEN pay only for one branch

A branch is a project unit represented in TeamSite Software to manage content for Named Users in identified roles. The goal is to price according to the number of initiatives
Many of our customers set up a branch manage entire Internet, Intranet or Extranet sites. Many customers have 100s of sites on 1 TeamSite server which is a great value compared to our competitors. In fact, customers routinely consolidated tens or hundreds of servers, needed previous to implementing TeamSite because of the advantages that branching provides. Our solution still provides low TCO because the cost of setting up a branch is minimal compared with the cost of buying a new box, server software, CM software, database, etc .... as is required with our competitors products.
