IMPORTANT - DevNet passwords to be reset

I'm giving people a heads-up that we will be resetting the devnet passwords in the next few days.

You will be informed via an email message to your login (e.g. the email address you used to register and your login address) with the new password.

You can change it to something more meaningful to you at: http://devnet.interwoven.com/site.fcgi/msm/member/chpass

Interwoven STRONGLY recommends that you change it from the password it is presently for security reasons.

This is the first mandatory password change we have done on DevNet. Like most computer access policies, we will probably need to increase the frequency of a password change in the future.

Please send me your flames and comments, I know people won't be shy.

Can't you create a banner at the top of the Forum page to put information like this? Right above the menu that shows

Main Index Search Control Panel ...

would be a good spot. Posting important messages like this is a poor way to inform everyone of what's going on. I rarely look at the DevNet Home page - I am always logged in to the Forums page. Give me a banner for important messages.

we can do popups, which we do.
we can put it on the login page, which i will do shortly.
i put it on the landing page, but as you say, no one looks there.

So I put it in the forums too, just so we try to catch everyone.

I wonder if the "invalid password" page should just have a notice that passwords are periodically reset, click here to email your password. Not sure what would happen if an email address changed between logins though.

when I try to change my password I am getting:

Error Bad message: /digest/site.fcgi/msm/member/chpass

....another result of IWOV regression testing?

(this comes because of URL on the front page is wrong:

I eventually clicked on the URL in the mesage and succeeded, but I specifically said that I was referring to the URL that is displayed on the front DevNet page

I mean if you gou to DevNet home,
there is apParagraph saying:

DevNet passwords will be reset in the next few days. Your new password will be emailed to you at your registration email address. Contact devnet-team with questions. Once the reset has occurred, the password can be changed from the Membership tab.

so the link behind "Membership tab" is faulty
