datacaptureXXX.dtd

Hi:

I am using "<!DOCTYPE datacapture SYSTEM "datacapture5.0.dtd">" in my DCT but it seems like the datacapture6.0 rules are being applied. Is there any default DTD that is picked up? If so where is it picked up from? I am running on TS6 but want to use TS5. DTD.

I have had a situation where I had "<!DOCTYPE datacapture SYSTEM "datacapture5.5.2.dtd">" on a 552 box, but nothing broke although a bogus DTD was specified. Hence I am assuming there is a default specified somewhere..

Any info on the location would be helpful.

Hi,

datacapture5.0.dtd should work fine. Can you be more specific about the types of problems that you are encountering? Regarding the question on default location for dtd, FormsPublisher actually uses built in rules to validate a DCT. It does not matter where a dtd resides for formspublisher to function properly.

The above statement does not hide the container. I have tried variations like adding a min/max for the container =1, enclosing with hidden fields etc... But, I just cannot hide the container. I was wondering if there was some config that was wrong.

Basically if we cannot hide the container, our UI breaks down. We hide/show containers based on a selection.

Hmm.. I just tried a similar example on my machine that is set up with 6.1 and it works as expected. Unfortunately, I don't have 6.0 readily available. (is that what you are using?) . In any case, if possible, try posting the entire DCT and the script.

here it is - The files attached are what was running fine on 552. You can see the broken behavior if we run on 6.0

There is no obvious error when I took a quick look at your datacapture.cfg. This requires more debugging. I suggest you file a support request.

Here is the response from support:

I was getting Java Runtime errors when I tested your DCT and javascript file. It was choking on this line:
var children = GetChildren(GetItemObject(fieldparentname));

where fieldparentname = "/Internal_external_placeholder_container/Internal_external_placeholder"

I was told in 6.0, we no longer expose the replicant as a separate item, but rather as a parent "node" of an existing instance. So I had to use this:
var children = GetChildren(GetItemObject(fieldcontainername));

where fieldcontainername = "/Internal_external_placeholder_container"

Also, I had to use the onFormInit event because it doesn't seem to set the visibility of the containers upon loading of the DCT but behaves correctly if I change the value of the radio button.

Here is the changed code:
