Filter Jobs on the ToDo List
syim
In TeamSite 5.5.2, there is only 4 ways to filter the To Do List (Current Tasks, Unassigned Tasks, My Jobs, and All Jobs). Is there a way to filter the To Do list by Task Name, Date, Owner and Status?
If this cannot be done in TS 5.52, can TS6.0 filter the To Do List?

The iw.cfg.example file shows how to set up arbitrary filtering on job variables in webdesk pro (your externaltasks may have to update these variables), but this probably won't do anything in the other UIs including 6.x. It says there is a hard limit but at least n 4.5 we were getting away with 5 filters.

## Can specify 0 to 3 attributes and their set of colon separated values
## These attributes show up in the To Do List page in the title section
## as select drop down. The user can then filter the jobs shown based on
## the attribute values. If you want to use one attribute, uncomment the
## first two lines below and change the name and values as needed. If
## you need two, uncomment out the next two lines and so on. You can only
## have upto 3 pairs of attribute name/value pairs.
## Note that value3 has a special keyword "dates". This is to indicate that
## Date Due is of a date type attribute. Choose to enable this feature will
## allow display of the dates to be localized (Webdesk Only). The values followed are all in
## "MMDDYYYY" format for system to recognize.

Hi
A related question on sorting the To Do list by job owner. Using the approach in the thread, I could get this to work only by listing all users in the values section under iw_workflow_ui (iw.cfg). And this is not feasible in real time. Is there another way to do this?.
Thanks.

Yeah, this was one of my complaints too - the drop-downs can't be dynamic. Other than writing something to periodically parse the UID files and rewrite that entry in iw.cfg (which seems rather dangerous) I don't have any suggestions.

Yup. It could be so much easier if the drop downs can be generated based on the current attribute values in the workflows
. Well, thats in a perfect world!
