Are there plans [that you can share] regarding unifying the interfaces for metadata capture with form entry ?
Specifically I'm looking at:
- the rendering of item descriptions (in Forms it pops-up when you hover over it and you have the option to make it stay poped-up and you can format the text within / in MDC you have to click on it which results in a javascript alert box with no rendering capabilities)
- the rendering of required fields (in Forms - a non-filled in required field has an exclamation mark (!) following the field label and before the field description icon ((?)) and the everything is rendered with a reddish color [fonts, lines, etc.]; a filled-in required field is rendered in black and the exclamation mark is replaced with an asterisk. In MDC - the fields are always rendered in black and the required indicator (an asterisk) always appears after the data-entry field rather than after the field label)
I'm sure there are still some other inconsistencies (besides form / environment variable data passed to callouts - but that's a different forum thread) - but it would be nice to know whether these two UIs are going to be staying different or if there are plans for the [relatively near] future to make them more similar.
