Disabling Integration with Office 2003

Hello Techies--
Well, I can't seem to integrate FileSite/WorkSite with InfoPath in a consistent way. In other words, I'll have to force manual checkins/check-outs of all InfoPath stored docs. I dont want the users to go through one set of procedures for one set of document types and another set of procedures for a different set of document types. So now I am considering disabling Office 2003 integration from FileSite/WorkSite in order to have our users uniformly check-in/check-out ALL doc types.

Have any of you made a similar decision? If so, what advice do you have?
