Calling cgi command in datacapture form

Hi,

I want to invoke the file iwmetadat.cgi wherever teamsite user creates/edits content. (on save click)
The idea is to force user to enter the metadat for content whenere its created or edited.
I am trying to call the cgi file through a javascript method but that does not seem to work.
Any pointers will be welcome.

Can you post your code snippet to show how exactly you are calling the .cgi script?
