Displaying 2 replicant items per row

Hi,
If i have 6 replicants in my generated page, i would like the display of the replicants to be 2 per row - so the generated page would have 3 rows (<tr> )
with 2 replicants displayed in each row ie., 1st and 2nd replicants in 1st <tr> , 3rd and 4th in 2nd <tr> , so forth.
can somebody guide me as to how to develop the logic in the presentation template for <iw_iterate> for counter parameter so that the display of replicants is customized?

Any immediate help is appreciated.....

It would be nice to know if it is possible to do the same in DCT.
