Web CMS (TeamSite)
order DNR script
diago
Hi
I wrote a deployment descriptor xml file to transfer file between two Teamsite server
I add 2 dnr scripts
first one executed on source to put extended attributes in a file and send the file to the target
second one executed on target to use the file to set extended attributes on target files
But
when I use
<dnrDeployment location="source" when="after" triggerPoint="transfer" state="always">
<script
cmd="/IW/od-home-6-0/getattributes.sh "
where="/IW/od-home-6-0/"
as="root"
async="no"/>
</dnrDeployment>
<dnrDeployment location="target" when="before" triggerPoint="disconnect" state="always">
<script
cmd="/IW/od-home-6-0/setattributes.sh"
where="/IW/od-home-6-0/"
as="root"
async="no"/>
I want that the dnr script in source is executed before the script in the target
but in fact the dnr script in target is executed before the dnr script in source
any hint ?
regards
Diago

This sounds like it might be a bug - and if you can easily replicate the problem I suggest you contact Support to see about getting it filed.
In the mean time though, you can perhaps play around with the before/after and triggerPoint options and see if switching it to be:
before disconnect (script 1)
after transfer (script 2)
makes things work.
Another possibility is to use the same directive for both:
after transfer (script 1)
after transfer (script 2)
or
before disconnect (script 1)
before disconnect (script 2)

Hi
I tried
before disconnect ( script 1 )
after transfer ( script 2 )
after transfer ( script 1)
before disconnect ( script 2 )
after transfer ( script 1 & 2 )
before disconect ( script 1 & 2 )
the script on the source ( script 1 ) is always executed after the script on target ( script 2 )

Hmm very strange - and sounds like a more significant bug.
Try the same thing but list the second dnrDeployment process first (i.e. 2 then 1) and see if that works-around the problem for the immediate time frame.
I was pretty sure that the dnr scripts were supposed to be run triggerPoint ordered top-down - but it sounds like neither is happening for you.
Can you post (as an attachment) one of the logfiles that shows the running of the dnr scripts (I believe it's the micro log)? I'd be curious to glance through it - but regardless it definitely sounds like you need to get on top of this with Support.

I contact the support for this bug
in documentation , they say that dnr are executed in order of appearance but on the same side!!!
When you execute one in a side, an other in the other side , I think oder can differ

I'd ask support to verify the specifics of your case with engineering.
Hopefully Todd or one of the OD Engineers will chime in later today - but it still helps to make sure it gets pushed through Support correctly.

After-transfer and before-disconnect are the same trigger point. I would have expected them to execute in the order they appear in the deployment, but based on comments above, it sounds like there may be a problem when the triggers are firing on the sender and receiver sides.
Please continue to work with Tech Support to isolate and file a bug, as appropriate.
In the meantime, what about using an earlier trigger point on the source side? For example, rather than using source-after-transfer, how about using source-after-compare (or source-before-transfer)?
