upgradation from 5.0.2 to 6.1
megamala
we are looking to upgrade from 5.0.2 to 6.1. Do we need to upgrade 5.5.2 first and then 6.1. In support site said it supports upgradation from 5.0.2 sp1 to 6.1 that means can we get backing store conversion tools from 6.1?
TIA

The devnet webcast that was done on 6.1 says you can upgrade directly from 502 SP1 to 6.1. If you are on 502 you'll need to put on SP2 before you go through the conversion process.
This is also stated on the support page-
https://support.interwoven.com/resources/products/compatibility/teamsite.asp
where it says:
TeamSite 6.1 Upgrade Compatibility
The following upgrade paths are supported with TeamSite 6.1:
TeamSite 5.0.2 SP 1--> TeamSite 6.1*
TeamSite 5.5.2 SP 4--> TeamSite 6.1
TeamSite 5.5.2 SP 5--> TeamSite 6.1
TeamSite 6.0 --> TeamSite 6.1
TeamSite 6.0L --> TeamSite 6.1
* Upgrade from TeamSite 5.0.2 SP1 requires a manual backing store conversion to the TeamSite 5.5.2 backing store format. The tools to perform this conversion (knows as the Conversion Tool Set) are part of the TeamSite 6.1 package.

Is there any documentation for migrating from 5.0.2 to 6.1?

Yes. There is a whole migration guide available for download on the Interwoven support site:
https://support.interwoven.com/resources/products/teamsite6/index.asp
See the item called Consulting Upgrade Package. This is a zip file of documents and checklists that will help you plan your upgrade. We also provide many different consulting upgrade packages where we can help you not only with the upgrade but with coming up with a long term content management strategy as well. If you are interested you can email
upgrade@interwoven.com
.

ANyone get this to work ? I spent today (Sunday) trying to get another company from 502 to 6.1 on NT.
Loaded SP1 easy
Ran 6.1 install. Main disk drive have 400M free. TeamSite disk had 1 G plus free. Would not install saying
TS required 700 MB. Pain, had to move stuff. Installer was looking at the wrong disk (I suspect)
Then finally get the installer to run. It tells me that I cannot run this cause I am on SP1, it required SP4.
So di I remove everything and then install ? That is very painfull since they do not have a dev server.
Anyone ?
TIA

Hi,
Is it possible to upgrade directly from 4.5.2 to 6.1 Please suggest.
Thanks

Did you think you'd get a better answer from this thread than when you asked and were answered the other day? Why are you wasting other people's time? You got a valid answer already. You're not going to get the answer you want just because you asked twice. Do a search for crying out loud - this subject has been covered several times already.

That is not possible.
You will have multiple upgrades. Getting to 5.01 will allow the BS to be used by 6.1 but that is a painful
process. I do not know if you can go directly from 4.5 to 5.5.2 but you should look into that.
You know with all the time you have posted asking this you could have upgraded a couple times
and been done.
Another thing to consider is do you really want to keep your backingstore ? Is the history you have
still required ? If not you could make a couple snap shots, do a clean install and import them in. THat was
how I got mine accomplished.

well, as usual, it's not only 'BS" (I like this abreviation!) needs to be upgraded. we are also talking callouts and external scriptes and custom menu items. This will require some serious preparaion, analysis, learning, etc....

templating regex's too - I belive it was somewhere between 4.x and 5.x that they switched from using regex(5) basic to regex(5) extended for processing the validation regex's used within templating.
