I have a directory with about 1000 files with a (supposedly) unique EA on each file. Turns out there are a couple dups.
What I did (which was very slow) was read the files into an array (
@list) read the EAs into another array (
@id) in the
same order as the files.
Then foreach
@list, take that ID and look through the list of EAs for 2 or more matches.
Worked, but it was slow.
What were some other options ? If I sorted
@id, then it is out of sync with
@list and I cannot match up which files have dups.
I was thinking about setting up a hash, but did not know if that would work.
