work area synchronization

Hello,

We have couple of work areas in our teamsite system. The developer can develop content paralally for different projects. We need to synchronize the content developed in different work areas. Is there any standard way to synchronize content between different branches/workareas ? Any help will be appreciated.

Are you talking about different workareas on the same branch - or different workareas on different branches?

There's a big difference.

For the former - Get Latest / iwupdate / Copy To Area are generally the mechanisms to use.

For the latter - iwupdate / Copy To Area are the mechanisms to use.

Though the mechanisms are roughly the same - the work done before/during/after the process is key to determining how cleanly the synchronization goes (do you do overwrites, or do you require merging - if merging, who does it? where? when?, etc.)

The more details you can provide regarding the overall intended process, the better chance you have of getting a useful response.
