Item replicant
AlisonQH
Hi,
We've found documentation that indicates that "min" and "max" are valid <item> attributes. Our templates are referencing datacapture6.0.dtd.
The problem we've encountered is that although the item behaves as a replicant, and even writes the dcr with multiple values, when we re-open a saved dcr in FormsPublisher, the fields come up empty. I've included an example dct below with it's dcr output.
------
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE data-capture-requirements SYSTEM "datacapture6.0.dtd">
<data-capture-requirements type="content" name="userAdmin">
<ruleset name="userAdmin">
<root-container location="accessList" name="accessList">
<item name="mainGroupName" min="1" max="5">
<label>Main Group</label>
<description/>
<text required="f" maxlength="255" size="60"/>
</item>
</root-container>
</ruleset>
</data-capture-requirements>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE record SYSTEM "dcr4.5.dtd">
<record name="ddddd" type="content"><item name="accessList"><value><item name="mainGroupName"><value>
<item name="mainGroupName"><value>first group</value></item>
</value><value><item name="mainGroupName"><value>second group</value></item>
</value><value><item name="mainGroupName"><value>third group</value></item>
</value></item>
</value></item></record>
We've been using the "min" "max" attirbutes on our containers with no problem, we're just wanting to know if this set-up above should also work...
Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi,
Not sure whats wrong with your code. Min and max do seem to work ok with items. The following code works ok
<?xml version="1.0" encoding = "UTF-8" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE datacapture SYSTEM "datacapture6.0.dtd">
<data-capture-requirements type="content" name="title" >
<ruleset name="Press Release">
<root-container name="top" location="top">
<item name="test" pathid="test" min="1" max="5">
<label>test</label>
<text required="t"></text>
</item>
</root-container>
</ruleset>
</data-capture-requirements>
Could it be that you have not specified pathid?

Hi Mark,
Thanks for getting back. I did a straight copy and paste of your code above and we're still getting blank fields when RE-OPENING a saved dcr. Any other thoughts?
Thanks

Hi
Try to delete the DCR. I think that the format is incorrect and change the DCT don't change the existing DCR. Open the DCR with a text editor and check the XML sintax.
Regards.

Huh?
If I delete the dcr, it won't be there to change or check with a text editor........
Format is incorrect? - make what kind of changes to the dct?
thoughts?
