Problems with wft_opendeploy
Valentine
OD 5.6, Solaris
Suddenly last week wft_opendeploy.ipl stopped working. Looking at the log files it looks like a permission problem.
<LOG_FILE>

There are a nuch of files created in the /tmp directory that have zero size.
/tmp/sh10455.1 exists, and it is owned by the user who started the workflow.

Well, there have been several recent threads on similar problems and although some work-arounds/fixes have been suggest but I don't know if they've resolved the problems seen.
In your case - you're on Unix - so you probably shouldn't be using the ODHOME/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl script and just use ODHOME/bin/iwodstart - or, if you have SP1 installed, ODHOME/bin/iwodcmd start -- and see if that fixes your problem.

oh ... ok. Seems to be working now.
Modified the wft_opendeploy.ipl file:
Line 354:
changed from
my $deploy_cmd = "$iwperl $OD_DIR/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl wft_opendeploy -k area=$areaPath -k filelist=$filelist -k useNode=$useNode -k targetArea=$targetArea -inst $taskid ";
to the following:
my $deploy_cmd = "$OD_DIR/bin/iwodcmd start wft_opendeploy -k area=$areaPath -k filelist=$filelist -k useNode=$useNode -k targetArea=$targetArea -inst $taskid ";
Thanks!!!

Valentine, what version of TS are you on? We use the OOTB version of wft_opendeploy.ipl found under the solutions folder as well and I'm wondering if we need to update the same code.
So far we have not experienced any issues related to deployments but it's something we'll keep an eye on. Now we're just fighting the other fires in our custom perl code since we upgraded to 6.1 SP1.
Since it's IWOV's code, maybe they'll provide a fix for it or at least a KB article if more folks experience the problem.

We are getting this identical problem with Data Deploy 5.6 on Solaris. We are running the iwdd.ipl command from a trigger script with the following out:
/cms/iw-home/tools/java1.3/jre/bin/java[12]: /tmp/sh24333.1: cannot create
Seems VERY related to this thread. It works fine if iwdd.ipl is executed from the command line.
Thoughts, ideas?
Lucas.
