Eclipse IDE

Hi,

I have to integrate Eclipse IDE 3.0 with Teamsite 6.1 for source control but I don't have any clue to do that ..In earlier version we have TeamCode but it is not useful with the new release of TeamSite 6.1 so please help me out about this.

What kind of source control are you looking forward to? With our implementation we are using Eclipse IDE and CVS. The code(jsps, perl scripts) is being version controlled with CVS.

I guess you can give each developer their own workarea and point the Eclipse IDE to the workarea using a mapped drive. If you're using TeamSite on Solaris then I guess you can use samba.

We use Eclipse and cvs to control our code and then use OpenDeploy 6.0.2 to pull the code from cvs and deploy to the proper place. We have installed the Web Tools Platform version 0.7 and Eclipse 3.1.

What specifically are you looking for in terms of extending Eclipse?

I am using Eclipse 3.1 with Web tools version 0.7 & EPIC perl plug-in version 0.3.10 as an IDE for TeamSite development. I could write iwperl external scripts, CGI scripts and DCT's using the IDE.

I wanted to know if you any one has extended or written any eclipse plug-in to develop workflows and TPL's.

For anyone else out there, I think you just download the EPIC plugin and copy the iw-perl directory from your TeamSite server to your development environment for it to work.

Is that all you did?

Yes i want to know that, too please let me if thats works for you are u able to run *.ipl's? And slo could use all the modules provided by teamsite?

Yes that worked in the past, but I haven't tried it recently. The only thing to keep in mind is that you will need an actual teamsite server where eclipse is running to test things like workflow external tasks, cgis which need the wrapper, etc. as those capabilities are only provided by the TeamSite server.

Testing ipls in general should work no problem, along with running them through the perl debugger inside of eclipse.

I am curious to get to know as to how you are going to debug workflow external tasks with Eclipse.

Simple

When one dies (or make it die w/o callback), run it from the commandline (or eclipse) with the parameters then WPID, TaskID and areavpath.

debug to your hearts content.

or write perl with no bugs, you should try that some time.
