Naming a DCR with a .(dot) at the end causes error

Has anyone ever seen TeamSite report an error that it 'cannot load the DCR' when you save a DCR with a period "." at the end and then hit preview and generate? Is this a documented feature, best practice or ? FYI, we are using TS 6.1 on Win 2k.

I am aware of multiple dots in a file name. Your error is probably from the same story ....
