tagging pdf sometime doesn't work

I have a little problem,I'm using metatagger 3.6 under solaris.

I constructed a vocabulary and build an index.I added the following lines to metatagger.cfg

<categoryType>DESCRIPTOR_LIST</categoryType>
<title>Keyword_NL</title>
<dbName>vpo_nl_lookup</dbName>
<implicitAdd>false</implicitAdd>
<tag>Keyword_NL</tag>
<implicitAdd>false</implicitAdd>
<SRscript>tokenize ;recognize ;resolve</SRscript>
<lexicon>vpo_nl</lexicon>
<pass>1</pass>
</category>

I then use iwmtbatch using suggest_by_tag to have metatagger fill in the field.But on some pdf files the value stay blank and on some others,the value is filled in.No error are thrown.

I tried
./iwmtconverter -metadata /tmp/myfile/test.pdf

and nothing is coming out from this command,but if I tried on some others pdf,I have a lot of output displayed.What does it mean?That some of my pdf are bad?

Perhaps the PDFs were created with different versions of authoriing tools?

At one client, they could correctly parse PDFs generated with v5 tools, but the text strings that Metatagger was keying on simply weren't there in any decipherable form when generated using v6 tools. I think the data is there, but in a compressed or encrypted form, so Metatagger can't find it.
