TS Reporting License
skip11
Hi,
TS 6.5 Sol 8
I'm suspicious of the fact that to install the reporting module for 6.5 one needs a special
license for reporting, and that the TS license cannot be used.
Is this correct ?
thanks in advance,

That is correct. You cannot use the TeamSite licence key for TeamSite Reporitng module. You will need licence key for
TeamSite Report Center
Crystal Enterprise Server
Ask your customer rep. for an evaluation key if you need

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Just as I thought.
So if I do not see a link on the support center home page to create a license,
it's likely that I'm not licensed ?
Also, is Crystal absolutely required ?

There is no Reporting Licence generator on the website. Don't know if it is in their plan. That is why you need to call your customer rep.
Reporting module has got tight integration with Crystal. So Crystal is required. I do not know if we have an option to use an existing environment of Crystal or we have to use the one provided by Interwoven.
I am doing an eval next week and will try to put some feedback.

Hi,
So an esteemed member of devnet just suggested I RTFM in regards to this issue (page 41 6.5 unix install).
I don't see his post on the board yet, whatever.
Franky, I did RTFM, and looked at page 57 ( before posting anything on this) of the install manual
which the esteemed member suggested contained info about generating a license for reporting.
Page 57 only shows how to obtain and install and TEAMSITE LICENSE, nothing about reporting license.
With all due respect, I would suggest to the esteemed member of devnet that he RTFM.

If the esteemed member you were referring to was me - in response to a post I started making and then deleted - the manual does indicate what you should do about reporting license up until, but not including the information on page 57 which does NOT (as you just pointed out) contain any information about the reporting license. That was part of the reason I removed my post.
If you weren't talking about me - well - no harm.

I NEVER reveal my sources.
Thanks to all that responded, I have my answer, now it's business decision.

TeamSite Report Center is a separately priced module. It includes the reporting infrastructure that publishes the reporting data to a database and comes with a tight integration with Crystal Enterprise Server, which will enable you to preview your reports within CC Pro in a dashboard like view.
You get the Crystal Enterprise (3 named users) and Crystal Reports (one user) software when you purchase TeamSite ReportCenter. You can choose not to use Crystal and use your own reporting tool against the reporting database (the schema has been published). However, you won't be able to view the reports from within CC Pro if you don't use Crystal Enterprise.
Please talk to your sales rep to get more information regarding pricing and available options..
