Emergency Deployment
Mali
Any new content changes in TS have to wait for the scheduled open deployment in order to be pushed to production server, Now I want to power certain TeamSite users with the right to do single files(multiple files) production deployment at their own time frame, and only for their own restrict workarea/intranet site. So if users made some changes, they don’t have to wait until our open deployment time, instead they can decide whenever they want the change to take effect in production server.
Any suggestions to how to go about it?

That's a fairly "stock" use case for integration between OpenDeploy and Workflow. Just add an extra external task to whatever submit (or new job, or whatever) workflow you're using now that invokes a filelist-based OpenDeploy. Then restrict that workflow to the users/branches where it's appropriate.

Look at wft_opendeploy.ipl in the solutions directory. It is meant to be used as an external task in the workflow.

Actually, if there's no review process in place for these users - I'd consider doing it as a custom menu item rather than a workflow - you can preselect the files, invoke the menu item and have the CGI invoke OpenDeploy (it could prompt for additional information if you want too)

I'm gonna disagree with you on this one. Doing it through the workflow gives you more options for retry on failure, and isn't dependent on the user not closing their browser window before things complete.

Thanks Guys,
But forgot to mention in my request that my teamsite and opendeploy is running in NT server.

I don't think the OS makes too much of a difference in this case (it makes some difference in terms of how the custom code for either a custom menu item or workflow externaltask / cgitask script is wrriten - but pretty minor).
