CVS Synchronize TeamSite
naumank
Hi All,
I am using cvs for source control and TeamSite for CM and in some place I have to synchronize the CVS with TeamSite constantly.
Does anybody has any idea about this?
Regards,
NK

Do you need to synchronize in both directions - or only in one direction?
There are CLTs for both products that will allow you to put together a customization to do this - but you have to be concerned about merge issues if the same assets can be modified on both sides.

It would be synchronize in one directrion from CVS to Teamsite and It would be modified through CVS. so please tell me how can i synchronize through CLT on a constant basis.

Learn the CLTs from CVS.
Learn the CLTs from TeamSite.
Learn how to write a script that utilizes both sets of CLTs to do what you want - or - hire a consultant who can do it for you.
I'm not trying to be facetious - you're asking for something that involves a high degree of customization to work within *your* environment and according to *your* needs - that's not something trivial to be done for free by people in this forum (unless someone else feels like doing it for you).

Fish is very accurate here. I have integrated 2 different CM systems before,
basically one as an archive of the other (not unlike what you are requesting)
First thing is to learn all you can about both systems. Next, start asking questions
about WHY you are doing this. What are you trying to accomplish ? Pure archive
or promoting code from CVS to TS ? Those are both straight forward. When you
decide you want ot change files on either side, then you will cause some problems.
The concepts are simple, on a compelling event (check in, release, etc) bundle changes
in CVS move them to TS. THen submit.
Changing permissions so that someone does not change in TS is a good idea.
