Is there any way to include in the datacapture.cfg, HTML that displays to the user when they edit a dcr?

You could try something with FormAPI. Do a window.open to a URL that contained the text you wanted to show to the user. It wouldn't be "in line" with the DCR, but it would be hard to ignore.

I did something that is not documented.

in 5.5.2 one could use HTML in <label>, in 6 it's also possible, but with some limitations.

Also, we succeeded in putting URL linksto help HTML file in <description> tags
