TeamSite
location of local files
coschtl
Hi all,
when you open Teamsite for the first time on a client machine, the launchpad setup asks for the location to store the downloaded files (c:\iwtemp by default). You can change this to any path you like.
And here comes my question:
Where does Teamsite store the location of a user defined path?
I tired to find out, but it's neither stored in a cookie nor in the entity database (<iw-home>\local\entities on the server).
Does anyone of you know?
Regards,
Stephan

If I remember correctly, n 5.x, it was in a registry entry, something like HKLM\Software\Interwoven\TeamSite\Launchpad. That's not where it is in 6.1. The only thing I see in the registry now is the path for Visual Annotate. I'll hunt around for it a little myself and let you know if I find it.

I don't think, it is stored in the windows registry.
I just changed the value from iwtemp to iwtemp2 but I can't find these values in the registry.
I am also quite sure that they are not stored as cookie, because if you i.e. change the iwtemp folder with ie and then log into teamsite with mozilla, the launchpad knows the new location.
BTW I am using TS 5.5.2 as well as TS6.1.

The location is stored in .launchpad.prefs file. This file can
be in different places, but is often found here
C:\Documents And Settings\<user>\.launchpad.prefs
However, the only supported way to access this is not
through the file system, but through the Setup UI.

Hi Jason,
thanks for the reply.
I don't want to change the location via editing the file. One of our customers just wanted to know where this value is stored.
