TS6.1install error

Hi

Installing TS6.1 onto a TS552 sp4 server... Solaris 8

go through the install procedure and it stops with an error

11/29/2004 05:09:00 - ProductManager.doInstall - Product TeamSite failed to create uninstaller jar
file: /iw/iwinstall/products/TeamSite/UninstallerData/installframework.jar, skipping to the next product
11/29/2004 05:09:00 - ProductManager.doInstall - exiting
11/29/2004 05:09:00 - InstallManager.install error - Product TeamSiteProduct TeamSite failed to create uninstaller jar file: /iw/iwinstall/products/TeamSite/UninstallerData/installframework.jar

I am running this as root and as far as i can tell there are no permissions problems...

any ideas?

Only an idea: Are you installing from a download? Might be worthwhile comparing file size to the prepared file on the IWOV site and/or downloading again, sounds like it could be a file corruption issue.

Yes i am working from a download.

I compared the file and it looks the same as the target on the support site.

I have also downloaded again and get the same error on install !!

What is the latest service pack ?
If SP4 is the latest please ignore this thought
else
then get to the latest SP and try a re-install...

Got it...

/tmp ran out of space during the install, (a helpful user dropped a huge file in there mid-install !)

after clearing /tmp down and allocating some more space for safety - it worked!

How much of space you had and how much did the installer need in /tmp ?

I am having the same issue, however the admins here are resisting the increase in /tmp

Is there any other way to tell the installer to use a different directory ?
