Mass Locking of Files

We are currently seeing that over 1000 DCRs on two seperate branches are locked by one user. This user was using WebXM to crawl our site for analysis purposes which I believe is the root of this problem. However my understanding of WebXM is that it should not lock files as it crawls via http://.

We were able to see that the first file was locked at midnight when the scheduled crawl was set to run so i'm feeling that this is the root of the problem. My question is has anyone experienced similar behaviour and do you have a recommendation to combat this.

I'm thinking that a mass unlock script is in order to run on the templatedata directories. Has anyone cooked one of these up?

What OS ?

on solaris you could run:

find /iwmnt/default/main/branch/sub/WORKAREA/mine/templatedata -type f -exec iwunlock {} \;

Of course that will unlock EVERYTHING

You could in the GUI, log in as the user who owns the locks, view my locked files, select all and unlock

I am certain Fish could write a nice perl script for that as well.

No idea how anything crawling the site (or TS) could lock the files. That should not happen.

We had a similar problem with a search someone did through some editor. The solution was to slap their hand and redirect future searches on staging - that prevented the locks.

find /fms/iwmnt/FMS/main/www/french_direct/dev/WORKAREA/rohit_wa -type f -exec iwunlock {} \;

on command prompt .

But its giving error ....find incomplete statement .

Any clue

What exactly are you trying to unlock? the syntax for unlocking a file is
$iwhome/bin/iwunlock /iwmnt/path/to/your/asset

Is __IW_HOME__/bin in your bin PATH variable or you can use the full path like __IW_HOME__/bin/iwunlock
